Villagers turned out in force at the weekend to support a charity breakfast which has raised thousands of pounds for a good cause over the years.

Congresbury’s Big Breakfast for Weston Hospicecare was held at the war memorial hall on Saturday, with dozens of villagers coming together to collect more than £1,000.

A dedicated team of volunteers pitched in and cooked up a selection of delicious treats to delight the diners.

The fundraising event has been running for more than a decade, collecting thousands of pounds for the hospice, which has cared for several villagers with life-limiting illnesses over the years.

The event has moved from the Recreation Club.

Organiser Julie Gosling said: “The big breakfast went extremely well at the new venue and we made more than £1,000 profit for the hospice.

“I would like to thank all our suppliers and the team of volunteers who helped on the day.”
