Congresbury residents will have the chance to have their say on plans to build a new village hall or community centre.

Four public consultations on the plans have been arranged for the coming weeks, where villagers will be able to talk to members of the project team about the proposals.

The sessions will be held at the recreation club, in Stonewell Drive, on Tuesday from 7.30-9.30pm, and on September 30, October 7 and October 11 from 9am to noon.

In August, the Congresbury New Village Hall Development Trust revealed its latest vision for a new facility at the King George V Playing Fields, in Stonewell Drive, which have been scaled back to alleviate neighbours concerns over the height of the building.

Trust spokesman Ian Sheppard said: “We have to be realistic and while the footprint will be reduced, the new building will still meet the project’s vision of providing the village with the multi-use facilities it desperately needs.”
