A SNAP of clashing conkers rang out across Wedmore on Friday. The annual conker competition held at The New Inn in Combe Batch saw a fierce and feisty match with entrants bashing and smashing their opponent s conkers.
A SNAP of clashing conkers rang out across Wedmore on Friday.
The annual conker competition held at The New Inn in Combe Batch saw a fierce and feisty match with entrants bashing and smashing their opponent's conkers.
Organiser Trevor Prideaux said: "Entrant were allowed to stamp on their opponents conker if it fell to the floor but some of them ended up being defeated by accidentally stomping on their own conker.
"We had 69 enthusiastic entries in total which was a great turn out."
The winner of the £35 top prize went to Julia Banwell. Second place went to Clive Mills who received £15 and joint third place went to Danny Ratcliffe and Karen Jones who were awarded with £5 each.
