GROVE House and Grove Lodge will be the home of Weston Town Council for another 25 years in return for a one-off payment of £25,000.

The cash will be used to help repair Grove Park bandstand, which is currently underway.

North Somerset Council owns both properties but has allowed town councillors and officers to carry out work and meetings there.

Councillors were made aware of the agreement at the policy and finance committee meeting on Monday night.

The £25,000 will be paid to the district council which is also responsible for the Victorian bandstand.

It is hoped the work, which was started in June and comes in at £100,000, will be finished by the end of the summer.

The scheme is being funded mainly by North Somerset, along with donations of £10,000 from the Weston Trust, £500 from Weston Civic Society and the £25,000 contribution by the town council.
