NORTH Somerset Council has been accused of ‘dragging its feet’ over flooding on a seafront road in Weston.

Flooding at the end of Clevedon Road, leading onto Beach Road, has made it difficult for cars to turn into the street and hard for people to cross the road.

And Councillor Mike Bell says North Somerset Council has known about the issue since the beginning of the year, but has not yet moved to address the problem.

He said: “The council is dragging its feet over this.

“What we’ve got at the moment is a situation where you can’t use the pavement and cars can’t use the road and I think that’s a bit much.”

A council spokesman said: “We are aware of this issue.

“The drainage system is blocked and we are trying to identify the problem.

“This is on a priority list but we have extremely limited resources and will resolve it as soon as we can.”
