A WINTER ban on dogs on Weston beach is likely to be lifted by North Somerset Council. The authority says it intends to lift the controversial ban after protests from dog owners and will now review it.The council says it understands the health and safety reasons behind introducing the ban but says if the review is approved it will give dog owners a second chance to prove they can pick up their dogs' mess.It says if fouling problems happen again the ban would be reinstated immediately. If the review is approved the ban would be lifted from the end of October until early Spring. During that time dog walkers would be able to use all parts of the beach except Marine Lake.
