THOUSANDS of residents across North Somerset have protested against council tax by sending copies of their bill to the Deputy Prime Minister.Weston Senior Citizens' Forum leader Ken Lacey estimated about 4,000 disgruntled householders sent bills to the Government as part of a national protest against council tax increases - called Prescott Day. Mr Lacey handed over more bills to the town's MP John Penrose who promised to present them to Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott on the floor of the House of Commons.Mr Lacey said: "This is definitely not the end of our protests against the council tax and we will continue for as long as it takes.
