NORTH Somerset Council is offering residents the opportunity to recycle pumpkins left over from Halloween.

Collection services will pick up the vegetables, most of which are carved out and used as jack o’ lanterns, if they are left next to food waste boxes on their normal food waste collection day.

The council has asked residents to remove candles or other additions from the pumpkins for them to be picked up by the service, which will run until Friday.
