North Somerset Council will spend more than £50,000 printing six issues of its magazine.

The authority will pay £8,875 for each issue of North Somerset Life.

The council still plans to publish six issues a year, despite being told by the Government to scale it back to once a quarter as far back as 2014.

There will be six issues from December 2016 to November 2017, at a cost of £53,250.

The printing cost per issue is £100 less than the council currently pays and it has the option to extend the contract to 2018 and 2019, which will save it £1,800 across the 18 issues it has planned.
