Council to scrap Bristol Airport greenbelt parking plan?
PUBLISHED: 13:00 17 December 2016
A North Somerset Council decision, which would have severely restricted parking for Bristol Airport customers in the greenbelt, looks set to be cancelled.
The decision was made in the summer to remove automatic development rights for parking in North Somerset’s greenbelt, and it was set to come into effect from next month.
As part of the decision-making process, a public consultation on the proposal was set up.
However, the council says the consultation flagged up a ‘number of issues’ relating to the scheme, and it has advised executive member for planning, Elfan Ap Rees, to cancel the order so responses can be properly considered.
