Residents to be questioned about health and wellbeing.

ADULTS from Weston, Blagdon and Churchill will be sent a questionnaire about their health and wellbeing.

A random selection of people will be sent the survey by North Somerset Council’s public health team so they can get an overview of the issues affecting residents.

Becky Pollard, director of public health for North Somerset said: “We rely on a number of estimates to assess the factors that affect the health and wellbeing of people in North Somerset.

“This survey gives us an opportunity to gain local data to help us as we refine our policies and plans for improving health and wellbeing.”

The district has a good health profile overall, but the team is keen to learn more about risk factors that affect people such as smoking, diet, alcohol use and mental wellbeing.

The surveys are being sent out this month and the results will be available in September.

Dr Jonathan Roberts, public health consultant leading the project, added: “We are really encouraging anyone who receives the survey to complete it and return it, it’s completely confidential, a high response rate would enable us to gain a rich insight.

“It’s an exciting project and we are looking forward to sharing the findings later in the year.”
