Council to write more than £20,000 off?

MORE than £23,000 in overpaid housing benefit could be written off by North Somerset Council.

MORE than £23,000 in overpaid housing benefit could be written off by North Somerset Council.

The unitary authority says it has not been possible to get the money back as it relates to people who have died or absconded.

The decision to write the money off is due to be signed by executive member for finance, Councillor Tony Lake and can then go ahead.
