A Weston councillor is appealing for more CCTV cameras along the seafront after a restaurant was targeted by vandals 16 times in the past 18 months.Owners of Winston's Fish Bar in Beach Road have spent thousands of pounds repairing the damage. Rozel Bandstand near Marine Lake has also been targeted by vandals in recent weeks and Liberal Democrat councillor Mike Bell, who represents the area for Weston Town Council and North Somerset Council, is now appealing for mobile CCTV cameras to cover the area.He said: "Winston's is not fully protected by the fixed CCTV cameras on the seafront, but might benefit from the mobile cameras to help catch the vandals and bring them to book. Local residents and traders are fed up with this kind of mindless behaviour and we need a real zero tolerance approach to cutting it out."North Somerset's community safety manager has agreed to ask police whether a mobile CCTV camera can be set up near the restaurant.
