WESTON Town Council’s Deputy Leader staged an impromptu protest against North Somerset Council’s recycling chaos by dumping his waste at Town Hall.
Councillor Clive Darke said he decided to take his uncollected recycling to the council’s Weston offices on Wednesday after hearing angry complaints from dozens of residents in his Worle Central ward.
He said: “This isn’t good enough, rubbish has been building up for weeks, and the weather just isn’t an excuse anymore.
“Whenever I’ve spoken to anyone about the rubbish, they tell me it will be tomorrow but that never happens. Something has got to be done about this mess.”
