THE Queen has not been the only person celebrating a diamond event this month.
Constance and William Norwood, of Coralberry Drive, Worle, were married on June 2, 1952 and on Saturday celebrated 60 years of marriage.
Mr Norwood, aged 90, met his bride-to-be at Burnham Baptist Church in 1949 when he travelled to the town to visit friends from his home town of Feltham in Middlesex.
He married Constance, now aged 87, at the same church three years later, before they honeymooned in Torquay.
William, a former railway porter, and his wife, who use to be a nursery worker, celebrated their anniversary with a party at The Commodore Hotel in Kewstoke.
The couple have two daughters, two grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
