A MAN who stole laptops from Weston College while he was working there has been jailed.

Richard Webb had been working part-time at the college when he stole five of the computers, and was sentenced to 18 months in jail.

A judge at Bristol Crown Court heard that the 22-year-old had also burgled a nearby house in the area where he took jewellery and electronic goods.

Webb, of no fixed abode had been working part-time at the college in Knightstone Road on July 21 when he stole the five Dell laptops from a classroom. However, he was captured by college CCTV.

In the home burglary he took a laptop containing images of the victim’s deceased father, a camera, mobile phone, jewellery and the victim’s engagement ring.

Following his arrest, he pleaded guilty to one count of theft and one count of burglary.
