Man to face court on Samurai sword charge

A man charged with wielding a Samurai sword in public is due in court next month.

The 29-year-old man will attend North Somerset Courthouse on November 12 in relation to this and a number of other offences, which also include assault of a woman, drink driving, driving without insurance, criminal damage to a mobile phone and attempting to cause grievous bodily harm to a man.

The allegations relate to an incident which took place on Sunday when a police officer was injured by a moving vehicle after attending a report of an assault in Norfolk Road.
