Four Weston-super-Mare men have been jailed for trying to sell cannabis.

Avon and Somerset Constabulary uncovered a six-person operation which sought to supply 8kg of the class B drug.

James Fillingham, aged 30, Martin Rnjak, 10 years his senior, Ean Sinclair, aged 34, and 42-year-old Paul Trueman were sent down on Friday after admitting conspiracy to supply drugs.

Bristol pair Rizwan Khokar, aged 32, and Mohammed Jalil, aged 33, were jailed for 16 months and 26 months respectively.

Police uncovered a cannabis supply line between the city and Weston, with 10 exchanges involving the gang between January and March.

They also discovered more than £12,000 in cash during their investigation.

Fillingham was jailed for 26 months, Rnjak for 16 months, Sinclair got an 18-month sentence and Trueman was handed a 10-month prison term.

A court hearing will be arranged to seize any profits the six made from their criminal endeavours.
