A WESTON teen who was banned from a seafront arcade became abusive towards staff after the area manager refused to see him.

Danny Lucas, aged 19, went to the Golden Gate Amusements in Regent Street on September 29 to speak to the manager about lifting his ban.

But he was asked to leave by a member of staff and he became abusive towards her, causing two customers to leave the building.

Lucas, of Coleridge Road on the Bournville estate, pleaded guilty to a public order offence when he appeared at North Somerset Courthouse on Monday.

The court was told that one witness heard Lucas say he had a spanner in his bag, but he denied this.

Judith Mills, defending, said Lucas has been banned from the arcade because of something his brother did, and had been told he needed to speak to the area manager to look at having the ban overturned.

She said on the day of the offence he spoke to the area manager, who he claimed was abusive towards him, and Lucas retaliated.

He was then refused further access to the manager and Mrs Mills said he now realises becoming abusive to staff was a ‘silly thing to do’.

Lucas was ordered to pay an £80 fine, £85 in costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
