A residential care home in Burnham-on-Sea has received a 'good' grading from the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

Tudor Lodge, situated in Brightstowe Road, received a unanimously ‘good’ rating across the board, grading well in all categories judged by the commission.

CQC inspectors arrived unannounced at the care home, which provides care and accommodation for up to 27 people, on June 20.

The CQC report said: “People were kept safe because staff were vigilant in monitoring behaviours and indicators of abuse.

“People’s safety was always at the forefront and the home was producing a personal emergency evacuation plan for each person living at the home and had conducted regular fire drills and fire alarm testing.

“Staff were suitably trained and skilled to meet the needs of people living at the home.”

The Mercury contacted Tudor Lodge to comment on the findings of the report, but a manager was not available at the time of going to press.
