A Weston-super-Mare care home closed after its management left the home during an inspection by the Care Quality Commission (CQC).

The latest CQC report for Wyvern Lodge, in Milton Road, was published this week and read: “During the inspection both the provider and registered manager left the home. Their location was unknown to us. This meant staff were left without clear leadership.

“People continued to be put at risk of serious harm and poor care.”
