MORE than £2,000 was raised for the RSPCA at the North Somerset branch of the charity's Sunday fun day last weekend.

Dog displays, teddy tombolas and informative talks were all part of the action at the Brent Knoll animal centre, which opened its doors to more than 900 people.

Branch secretary Rita Hinton said: “It was a really cracking day and we were lucky with the weather as well.

“We raised about £2,400, which will all go towards helping animals in the community. Sums like that really affect how many animals we can look after, which is great.”
