CRAG: Wider impact of new homes in North Somerset 'must be considered'

A village housing action group has called for new developments in North Somerset to be looked at cumulatively, so that housing in the area can be built in a sustainable manner.
The Congresbury Residents’ Action Group (CRAG) spoke out after developer Strongvox won an appeal to build 118 homes in nearby Sandford earlier this month.
The group said it feared the Sandford development would create traffic problems in nearby villages, such as Congresbury and Langford, and it urged both North Somerset Council and the Government’s planning inspectorate to assess the wider effect of new homes.
CRAG chairman Mary Short said: “This is a good example of the folly of looking at each planning application on its own without considering the overall impact on an area.”
