A mum and her two young children who were hurt in a car collision are now in a 'stable' condition in hospital, police have revealed.

The family – which includes a boy aged four and a five-year-old girl – were all hurt in an incident shortly before 5.20pm yesterday (Friday) on Coast Road at the Unity Farm Holiday Centre in Berrow.

All three were airlifted to hospital with injuries initially described as ‘serious’ by Avon and Somerset Constabulary.

However, a police spokesman has since provided a more promising update on their condition.

The spokesman said: “The woman remains in hospital in a comfortable condition with no serious injuries.

“The two children remain in a stable condition. Their injuries are not thought to be life threatening or life changing at this time.”

Investigators have also renewed their appeal for witnesses to come forward.

The police spokesman added: “Anyone who witnessed the incident is asked to call us now on 101 and quote log number 879 of 26/8.”
