Cream teas for charity

A FUNDRAISING cream teas event was held over the weekend for Weston Hospicecare.
People served up cream teas, scones and jam to help raise funds for the charity as part of a series of events held over the summer.
The event, at Coco’s Deli in Regent Street on Saturday, also saw a new business help raise money.
Deborah Matthews set up Bridget Scones after wowing community group Weston COG with her range of tasty treats.
Now she supplies several local cafés including Coco Browns in Regent Street and the Lighthouse Café in Pier Square and set up a stall at the event to raise money for the cause.
She said: “My father died of cancer and during his illness the hospice provided him and his family an immense amount of care and support.
“I will be remembering him and raising funds to help Weston Hospicecare continue the vital role they play to families like mine.”
