Crew fights Highbridge chimney fire

PUBLISHED: 08:45 18 January 2017

A fire crew from Burnham-on-Sea was called to a chimney fire in Highbridge last night (Tuesday).

The chimney, at a property in Church Street, was well alight on arrival.

The crew extinguished the flames by removing wood from the hearth and used a thermal image camera to check the fire had not spread.

It also tackled the blaze from the roof using an extension ladder and safety equipment.
