Crews tackle ‘destructive’ fire

A SHED, fencing and hedgerows caught alight in Rooksbridge this afternoon (Tuesday).

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service was called to Rookery Close at about 2.50pm to deal with the emergency.

About 20m of hedgerow and 10m of fencing was destroyed, according to a fire service spokesman.

The fire however spread to the garden shed which and it, along with its contents, was also destroyed.

Firefighters from Burnham made the area safe and have now left the scene.
