A NEW beer and cider festival will be staged in Weston next month.

It will be hosted by Weston Cricket Club in Devonshire Road to raise money for Weston Hospicecare.

There will be around 30 real ales and ciders on offer.

The main aim for the festival is to raise money for the hospice and the cricket club, and a game between Weston and Keynsham will take place during the festival on May 2.

Entry on that day, starting at 2pm, will be free.

The main beer festival will take place on May 3, where entry is £5 and includes a free pint.

There will be live music
from the Mangledwurzels and The Stereo Jacks.

If there is good weather, there will also be a 20-over cricket competition between Weston, Uphill and Frocester Cricket Clubs.

There will also be a hog roast and barbecue.

More information is available at www.westonbeerfestival.co.uk and tickets can be bought from the club on 01934 623101.
