A Weston-super-Mare man has been handed a three-year community order after he admitted to possessing almost 200 indecent images of children.

Jason Langley, of Fairview, pleaded guilty to three charges of making indecent images, ranging from categories A to C, which included 105 still images and one moving image in the most severe category, 29 still images in category B and 59 still images in the third category.

Langley, aged 49, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court on May 1 after he pleaded guilty to the charges at North Somerset Magistrates Court on March 27.

He was made to sign the sex offenders register for five years and was also made the subject of a sexual harm prevention order for the same period of time.

Langley was ordered to forfeit and destroy five mobile phones.

He was also made to pay a victim surcharge of £85.

The Lucy Faithfull Foundation, a charity which looks to prevent the sexual abuse of children across the UK, has issued advice on how to report inappropriate online behaviour.

Its spokesman said: "If you are concerned about what you are looking at online, or the online behaviour of someone you know, you can call the confidential and anonymous Stop It Now helpline on 08081 000900 for advice, support and help to stop.
