A 22-year-old man has pleaded guilty to beating up a teenager after leaving a Bristol nightclub.
Kyle Gibson, of Yatton, attacked 19-year-old Ben Jennings in Bristol city centre on May 7.
After leaving SWX nightclub, he ran into Mr Jennings in Park Street before beating the teenager, who later needed hospital treatment for facial injuries, a black eye and multiple cuts.
Gibson was due to stand trial at Bristol Magistrates Court on Tuesday as police initially believed the attack was motivated by homophobia, but the Crown Prosecution Service accepted this was not the case.
Gibson, of Binhay Road, must now carry out 80 hours of community service over 12 months, and pay £400 compensation to Mr Jennings.
Luke Sheppard, of Downside Road in Backwell, was due to face a charge of causing alarm to Mr Jennings but the case was dropped.
