A HIGHBRIDGE man has been jailed for five-and-a-half years after slashing a man’s throat.
Jamie Edney, aged 36, pleaded not guilty to the charge of grievous bodily harm but was convicted at Taunton Crown Court after a four-day trial.
Edney was then sentenced at Bristol Crown Court yesterday (Tue) for cutting James Hobbs’ throat with a knife on January 15 last year.
When police arrived at the scene officers found him clutching a blood-soaked cloth to his throat and he has lost a considerable amount of blood.
He was then taken to Weston General Hospital where doctors told him he was lucky to be alive.
