A MAN from Burnham has been convicted of rape, but has been spared a lengthier sentence after his victim asked for leniency.
Nathan Miller, aged 20 of Steart Avenue, was jailed for three-and-a-half years at on Friday at Taunton Crown Court.
Miller was convicted after raping the woman, who was then aged 19, last January, after the pair had been drunkenly flirting in a pub and then gone back to his parents’ house.Despite the jury unanimously finding him guilty, Recorder Alun Jenkins decided against handing him a lengthier sentence after the victim said she did not think Miller should be jailed.
