A 36-YEAR-OLD man has admitted building explosive devices which forced police to evacuate 50 houses last month in a major bomb scare.
Burnham’s Phillip Leonard pleaded guilty to four counts of making explosives during a hearing at Taunton Crown Court this morning (Tues).
Bomb disposal experts put up a 100m safety cordon around his house in Beatty Way on January 20 which he was staying at with his ex-partner.
Leonard, who committed the offences between December 31 and last month’s raid, will be sentenced at a later date. He will remain in custody until the pre-sentence reports are carried out.
