A 56-YEAR-OLD Weston man has been jailed for his part in a �1.5million vodka farm tax scam.
Michael Matthews was sentenced to 18 months imprisonment at Nottingham Crown Court today (Fri) after he was found guilty of cheating HM Revenue & Customs earlier this month.
Four men were found guilty by jury, including Matthews and another two pleaded guilty either before trial or during it. Currently five of the men have been sentenced to a combined total of 17 years.
Matthews, of Stanley Grove, supplied the group with labels for the counterfeit alcohol at their industrial unit at Moscow Farm near Great Dalby, Leicestershire.
