A WESTON lorry driver, who knocked down a man and killed him, has been jailed for 14 months.
Colin Woolgar, of Cedern Avenue in Elborough, pleaded guilty to causing death by careless driving at a previous hearing and was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court last week.
The collision occurred in St Andrews Road in Bristol on July 25, when Woolgar hit David Moore while driving a 7.5-tonne lorry.
Mr Moore, from Shirehampton, was using a crossing in St Andrews Road at the time of impact.
Woolgar, aged 38, was also given a three-year driving ban and was ordered to pay a victim surcharge of £100.
