Man appears in court over alleged police assault

ASSAULT CHARGES: A man charged with assaulting a police officer appeared at North Somerset Courthouse in St Georges this week.

Martin McAllister, aged 46, of Moorland Road, Weston, was charged with assaulting a police sergeant on September 30.

He was also charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent to Eric Cox on September 29 and with assaulting Terry Cox, causing her actual bodily harm, on the same day.

He denies all charges, and has been remanded in custody for a hearing at Bristol Crown Court on December 20.
