Man in court after alleged stabbing at hostel

A 28-YEAR-OLD man has been arrested and charged in connection with an alleged stabbing at a Weston hostel.

Saqib Zaffar, of Severn Road, appeared at North Somerset Courthouse today (Fri) charged with wounding with intent.

He was also charged with supplying class A drugs, possession of class A drugs, possession of a bladed article and possession of cannabis.

Mr Zaffar did not enter a formal plea and the case has now been adjourned to Bristol Crown Court on July 25 for a preliminary hearing.

He was remanded in custody.
