A NURSE has today (Friday) been charged with manslaughter following the death of a 10-year-old girl from Locking.
Phoebe Willis, who suffered from cystinosis, a rare genetic condition which can damage kidneys and other organs, died in 2012, less than 48 hours after receiving treatment at Weston General Hospital.
Phoebe’s parents Heather and Julian Willis, of Lime Close, paid tribute to their daughter after her death, describing her as ‘remarkable’ and ‘a brilliant little girl’.
Avon and Somerset Constabulary has this evening revealed that Carrie-Anne Nash, a nurse from Portishead, has now been charged with Phoebe’s manslaughter on the grounds of gross negligence.
She is due before North Avon Magistrates’ Court on November 3.
