A MAN who harassed his ex-girlfriend with threatening letters has been given a curfew and a restraining order.
Craig Chase, aged 26, of Homefield Close, Winscombe, had been in a relationship with Julie Goodchild for a year before they broke up. He then forwarded on a bank statement to Miss Goodchild on June 21 with a note attached in which he called her a ‘nasty lowlife’.
Chase is due to emigrate to Australia in December so was given a community order effective until November 23.
As part of the curfew he must remain at home between 7pm and 7am, which will be enforced by an electronic tag.
He was also given a restraining order restricting him from contacting Miss Goodchild for 12 months. Chase was ordered to pay costs of �85.
