A SERIAL shoplifter has been handed a suspended jail sentence for her latest theft – stealing a vibrating sex toy from Asda.

Magistrates at North Somerset Courthouse were told Jemma Carr has a history of ‘previous and similar convictions’ when she appeared on June 2 to be sentenced for two supermarket thefts.

In one, 31-year-old Carr stole an £11.49 Durex Vibrating Bullet from Asda, while the other saw her steal chicken, a sandwich and an MP3 player from Tesco.

Magistrates sentenced Carr, of Windermere Avenue, to a four-week jail term suspended for 12 months after hearing the offences were aggravated by the fact she was already subject to a community order for previous crimes.
