In an article published in the Weston Mercury edition of July 26 we said that Kelly Anne Louise Mills, 29, of Milton Road, Weston, punched a pregnant woman in the stomach.

However, North Somerset Courthouse heard Mills’ defence was that she had not punched the woman but had instead pushed her in the face.

We are sorry for the confusion and are happy to clarify the situation.

Mills admitted three counts of assaulting people at a play area in May of last year.

She was sentenced to six months in prison suspended for two years, was ordered to complete 250 hours of unpaid work and pay £500 compensation for what was described by the chairman of the bench as a ‘ferocious assault’.
