A WOMAN has been jailed for eight years after she was caught trying to import cocaine worth 400,000 through Bristol Airport.
Adetokunbo Ajoke Bakare, aged 44, was sentenced at Bristol Crown Court after it was told border agency officials had found class A drugs in her suitcase.
Bakare, from London, was found guilty on June 20 after denying she was trying to import the drugs in from Africa.
Dawn Cartwright, of the Border Force, said: “We are serious about tackling the criminals responsible for bringing illegal drugs into Britain and Bakare’s lengthy jail term should serve as a warning to others.
“Along with our law enforcement colleagues in the UK and around the world Border Force is determined to prevent class A drugs reaching our streets and harming our communities.”
