Crook Peak Gardening Club hosted its 38th show at Cross’ Memorial Hall, in Webbington Road.

For the first time, it was open to entries from members of the public and drew the event’s highest ever attendance.

A variety of prizes were handed out for people’s baking, photography and planting efforts.

Event organiser Sheila Hatton said: “The event was well attended because it was open to all the villagers, usually it is only for gardening club members.

“We had 29 entries this year and the quality was very good.”

The gardening club meets every third Thursday of the month at 7.45pm in the memorial hall, and its next meeting takes place on September 20, with guest speaker Dec Partridge talking about the magic of herbs.
