Crossing idea put forward

Burnham and Highbridge Town Council will explore whether money can be found to create a new crossing on a busy Burnham road.

The council received a letter from a concerned resident at a full council meeting last week about the safety of Berrow Road.

Pam McDonald’s letter read: “I feel like I am taking my life into my hands to cross this busy road.”

Town clerk, Denise Emery, said: “I can see the need for a crossing but it will all come down to money and whether funding is available from the county council.”

Councillor Peter Burridge-Clayton said he would put the idea forward to the county council, but told the meeting there is ‘another job in the queue’.
