THE Weston-super-Mare Association of Malayalees (WAM) celebrated the new year with a party at Kewstoke Village Hall on Saturday.
More than 250 people went to the event, which celebrated the achievements of the past year.
Certificates were given to children who have completed Malayalam language classes and gained good grades in sport and academic subjects.
There were a number of speeches and North Somerset Council’s chairman Charles Cave and Weston’s deputy mayor, Alan Peak, both attended the event and there was traditional Kerala-style food.
