Cyclist taken to hospital after collision with car – police due to interview driver

A cyclist had to call the police after a collision with a car in Weston-super-Mare this morning (Wednesday) in which the car’s driver failed to stop.

Police were called to Phillips Road at 6.50am by a cyclist who had been involved in a collision with the car.

A spokesman from Avon and Somerset Constabulary said: “We received a call from the victim, who was a cyclist, and a car had collided with him.

“It looks like the driver did not stay at the scene. We have located the driver and the driver is coming in for an interview this morning.”

The cyclist suffered minor injuries but was taken to Weston General Hospital as a precaution.
