D-Day war hero who received a Legion d'Honneur in 2015 dies aged 95

A war veteran who was involved in the D-Day landings during World War Two has died aged 95.
Peter Gillard, who lived in Clarence Road North in Weston, received the Legion d’Honneur last year for his role in the Normandy landings.
He also served in North Africa, Italy, and Belgium.
Before the war, he had been in the Territorial Army.
His funeral took place on Friday, where there was a military guard of honour.
Mr Gillard was also president of the Rotary Club in Portishead, and had two children with his wife Jeanne.
They had four grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
