MORE than 100 people turned up to a night of music and fundraising for Macmillan nurses.

The event was inspired by father-of-one Steven Dunston, who was featured in the Mercury two weeks ago.

Steven, aged 43, of Shrubbery Walk, Weston, has only been given a year to live and he and his friends wanted to raise money for the nurses who have helped him face his battle against cancer.

The event, which took place at The Pavilion on Weston seafront, included a raffle and live music from Combyne ‘Arvester and the four-piece band Uncle John. The evening of entertainment raised about £900.
