Somerset Wildlife Trust is starting a new project to help fathers and their youngsters become closer through a shared enjoyment of the great outdoors.
The project has been given the go-ahead thanks to a Big Lottery cash boost of £55,875.
Along with family bonding, people will also learn skills and information about their local environment and its woodlands and wildlife. By the end of the course, organised by Somerset Wildlife Trust, people taking part should be able to identify animal tracks and plants and use their new-found knowledge in an annual overnight survival camp.
The range of activities on offer include orienteering, bug hunts, badger watching and survival skills.
