THE Chalice Morris Men will hold a weekend of dance to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

The group, based in Brent Knoll, practise the English tradition of Morris dancing and on Saturday will be joined by three other groups from around the UK.

The Chalice Morris Men have invited the Foresters Morris Men from Nottingham, Great Yorkshire Morris Men from Pool in Wharfedale and Jockey Morris Men from Birmingham to join in with the celebrations, which are free of charge.

On Saturday the four Morris sides, which will total around 60 men, will be performing in Weston’s Princess Royal Square from 10.30-11.15am.

They will then move to Axbridge Square for a show at midday and perform at Brent Knoll’s parish hall, in Brent Street, at 7.30pm.

On Sunday morning the collaboration of Morris Men will be joined by the Mendip Morris men and there will be a big display in Clarence Park, Weston, from 11.30am to 1pm.
